Estate 14K YG Victorian Shell & Seed Pearl Cameo Pin

Description

One standard acid tested 14KT yellow gold lady's hand made antique cameo brooch with a hand engraved finish. The oval Cameo brooch measures 2 1/2"" X 2"". The Shell Cameo measures 2 1/8"" X 1 1/2"". The caving depicts a Roman Senator and his Lady in a chariot pulled by 4 horses, thru the streets of Rome. The Cameo mounting is surrounded by Seed Pearls strung on a wire. The frame surround is hand engraved in a floral and laurel wreath motif. The Brooch is Circa 1850's-1880's. The clasp closure has been replaced with a modern Ball clasp. Condition is excellent.

One bezel set cut natural shell cameo, measuring 53.75 x 39.75 x 3.60mm, cut is very good.
Four akoya cultured pearls, 2.0mm to 2.1mm in size. The pearls are light cream in color with a good luster, off round, and lightly blemished with good matching.
121 seed pearls, 1.0mm to 1.2mm in size. The pearls are light cream in color with a good luster, off round, and moderately blemished with good matching.
